About

Echo Tapes is a physical music store — vinyl, CDs, cassette tapes, VHS and Blu-ray — run alongside The Black Element Label from Warsaw, Poland.

The catalogues

Happy Pills — pioneers of alternative guitar music in 1990s Poland: from the debut "Soft" (1994) through "Smile" and "Lo-Fi" to "Something Indefinitely Good"; the catalogue also includes a collaborative album with Germany's Schneider TM and one of the last official VHS releases in history.

Silver Rocket — Mariusz Szypura's project blending British guitar sounds with electronics: "Electronics for Dogs" (2001), "Tesla", "Unhappy Songs" with a host of Polish guests, and the two-part concept album "Infinity Fidelity" about the relationship between humans and machines.

Chopin Residue — Mariusz Szypura's project recomposing Fryderyk Chopin's preludes by removing the piano; its 25 contributors include Adrian Utley (Portishead), Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) and Jim O'Rourke. Available on 2LP, 2CD, 2MC and as a Pure Audio Blu-ray in Dolby Atmos.

How we work

Orders are packed and shipped from a European Union warehouse by our logistics partner 8merch. Sold-out items stay in the catalogue as a discography archive. Returning is as simple as buying — you have 14 days and one e-mail is enough: [email protected].
